this is my review of the iTouchDSthank you dealwoot for contributing this flashcart for me------------------------------list of features written on the box:-plug and play feature for it is easy to use-100% Game compatibility-automatically detect and generate game save file-built in cheat engine-fully customizable skin interface-supports both the Micro SDHC and MicroSD. (Capacity over 4GB)-supports homebrew applications-supports software reset function-supports download play-single-chip solution, highest level of stability and lowest power consumotion (I think they meant consumption)-support multi-language: English, French, Dutch, German, Italian, Portuguase (I think they meant Portuguese), Spanish, Korean and Thai LanguageFirst Look and Appearance:The iTouchDS is a budget card released but the M3 team.PackagingThe iTouchDS comes in a small cardboard case approximately 9 cm (length) by 9 cm (width) by ~1.5 cm (height) with an extra tab sticking out the top. The iTouch itself and the microds reader is in a plastic holder inside the box. There are no instructions whatsoever.Card QualityIn the previous desings of the iTouch, the cart is held together by clips, making it easy to disassemble and take apart the iTouch. But renovations were made, and the iTouch that I received is much more sturdier and not clipped. It is a light gray with the logo sticker over the front. There is also a slight protrusion of a squarish shape under the sticker. The iTouch is spring slot loaded, but the microSD doesn't sit completely flush. When inserting the flashcart into my DS, it slightly sticks to the edge of the slot, but doesn't get stuck.ReaderThe reader is pretty sturdy and works well.Card Performance-------------------------I was excited to see the GUI of this cart when I first heard of it. The iTouch is an interesting name, but to my dismay, does not embody the features of the GUI very well. Unlike most flashcarts, you don't have the generic 3 options when you first boot up the cart (Games, Moonshell, and Settings). Instead, it shows 3 icons named iGame, iFav, and iCard. In iCard, you are able to view and run all the files within the cart, whether .nds or .dmp. , etc. This is where you can also set your shortcuts to iFav. iFav is a feature in which you can view and run your favorite games, applications, homebrew, etc. Your favorites are displayed using the icon. iGame is similar to iCard except you can only view and run your .nds files,cannot create shortcuts, and can access the options. I don't know why they made two file browsers that almost do the same things.Contrary to it's name, the iTouchDS does use touch screen, but not at a very smooth speed or quality. You cannot scroll down using the touch screen and tapping buttons sometimes isn't all that responsive. Recent firmware upgrades have made the loading speed faster so its not as laggy as it used to be.Features1.Cheats - The iTouch has a built in cheat engine, running the cheat.db files. You have to place them in a folder named 'system' on the root of the iTouch. In the options menu, you can choose which cheats you wish to enable and recently and update made it possible for your selection to be saved.2.Backup Saves -- just a nifty feature that creates backup saves3.Slow mo- Currently, only a few flashcarts are able to slow down games using this feature. The iTouch is one of them. You have a choice between 5 different speeds4.Soft reset- You can choose between 2 different types of soft reset (L+R+B+A+Y or X). Homebrew soft reset is not yet available.5.Auto DLDI patching- this is a given. Any cart without this would not make sales in the market6.Supports Micro SDHC- nowadays, most carts offer this feature so that you can play a more variety of games on an SDHC card7.Moonshell- Moonshell is fully supported and can play mp3 and videos (in .dpg of course)8.Skins- easy to skin. Just replace files with your own. 9.Many languages- supports 9 languages10.Favorites- as stated above, the iFav lets you view shortcuts and favoritesCompatibilityAlthough very close, its compatibility isn't 100%. A few games have crashed (such as TWEWY). Most homebrew apps are compatible and the iTouch has had some difficulty with one or two games using download play.M3 Real and SakuraThe iTouch is able to run the M3 Real and M3 Sakura firmware using the triple boot. M3 Real can play NDS games, but not the M3Sakura (they are getting close though).
